Don't get burned by driver-update scams | WindowsSecrets.com

Windows Secrets reports: "Although you can find free tools to help keep Windows and your other software up-to-date, you'll have to pay to get the best tool for scanning your system's drivers and downloading the updates you need."

I have never been a big fan of these driver version update tools, because they never really helped me but some people like them. Although, here is a article that talks about some of the issues with this class of tools and recommends some of the better products that you might want to check out.

I would like to find a way to express what a rip off the program Driver Detective is. Yo can't even update drivers through Microsoft.com with out getting passed off to this scam website Driver Detective. Basically all it does is charge you to find out what drivers you have already installed on your computer and most of them are now obsolete because you have changed the devices that they were needed for. As well if you try to update any of your drivers that are recommended it will get you nowhere. Hence you have just paid $39.95 to find out what you already knew and to get nothing in return.
